About / Mission & History
The mission of The Arc Northwest Indiana is to improve the welfare of persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. We fulfill our mission through the GAPS (Guardianship, Advocacy and Planning Services) program, which is designed to fill the readily identifiable gaps not otherwise fully addressed by governmental agencies or local service providers.
Our mission further includes participation and leadership in local, state and national organizations and the provision of education programs which actively promote understanding and respect of the rights, problems and needs of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
